This one day conference is presented by the New Zealand Political Studies Association (NZPSA) / Te Kāhui Tātai Tōrangapū o Aotearoa Civics and Citizenship Working Group, to discuss Civics and Citizenship. It is being held the same week as the NZPSA annual conference.

The day will be a mix of presentations and discussion and asks how should we improve and encourage civics and citizenship education and citizen participation from all age groups of life, from early childhood to seniors, and across all dimensions including volunteers and refugees.
It will be of interest to people of all ages and school teachers and pupils who are interested in civil society are welcome.
More information about the agenda will be made available to people who register as well as information about the background work that has led to the event. This is an associated paper in preparation, titled “Supporting Civics, Citizenship and Political Literacy in New Zealand” which has shaped the agenda for the day.
