The Labour History Project launched an essay competition last year. The competition is running again in 2015 and entries close on Tuesday 2 June. The Labour History Project (LHP), the only national organisation dedicated to fostering New Zealand labour history and cultivating an important part of our collective memory. The project’s conferences, publications, newsletter and research has documented events as diverse as the Spanish Civil War, the Blackball Miner’s strike.It celebrated and commemorated the 2013 strike and most recently it has published a set of posters giving an alternative perspective on the First World War and held a seminar Remember the Peacemakers: Disrupting the Narrative: An exhibition challenging ideas about New Zealand in World War One &.
